Swim Team Rules

  1. Swim team monthly fees are due by the 10th of each month. A late fee of $10 per swimmer will be charged after the10th. If payments are not received by the end of the month the swimmer will be suspended from practice until the full payment is received.
  2. All swimmers must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after practice has ended or a $5 late charge per 10-minute interval will be assessed. There are NO EXCEPTIONS on this policy.
  3. Unless it is an EMERGENCY, DO NOT contact the coaching staff after 9:00 p.m. or before 10:00 a.m. If you need to speak with the staff please set up an appointment or call 770-736-3512.
  4. The athletes’ school report cards must be submitted to the coaching staff. Please photocopy report cards and submit to staff.
  5. A meet sign up sheet will be posted one month before the meet. Please sign your swimmer up for swim meets. Once the meet information is sent to the host team no changes will be made. (Maps will be distributed one week before the meet date.)
  6. Every swimmer must participate in team fundraising activities.
  7. Parent/Guardian must accompany their swimmers to all swim meets. The only exception to the rule is if the swimmer drives or the parent/guardian leaves another parent/guardian in charge.
  8. Team caps and suits must be worn at all meets (as required under the the team sponsorship agreement with Nike, Inc.). To place your swimsuit order, please call 770-381-7908 and ask for the DeKalb Aquatics uniform.
  9. The coaching staff has the authority to suspend a swimmer at any time if we feel that the swimmer is behaving in a manner that is disruptive to the team. A disciplinary committee will be used to address appeals.
  10. You must be on time to scheduled practices. You must practice at your scheduled time. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  11. Parents/Guardians are not allowed on the pool deck at any time.
  12. DeKalb Aquatics is not a recreational swimming team, it is a professional swim team and must be treated that way at all times. If you treat it as a recreational league you will be asked to leave the team.
  13. PARENTS/GUARDIANS WILL RESPECT THE COACHING STAFF AND THEIR DECISIONS. The staff should and will be treated as professionals.
  14. SWIMMERS WILL RESPECT COACHES AND THEIR DECISIONS OR THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE TEAM.
  15. When using the Agnes Scott facility or any other facility, please be respectful. No running in the halls, sitting in lobby, loud behavior, leaving showers on, or destroying of any property. We are guests at the facility and we would not want to lose the facility privileges.
  16. Each swimmer must wear NIKE outfitting exclusively at all local, regional, national and international competitions in accordance with our sponsorship agreement with Nike, Inc. This includes suits, warm-ups, bags, etc.
